Breakfast runs all morning. Wood-fired pizzas come out of the oven
blistered and fast. The fish on the grill was on a boat an hour ago.
And when the sky turns peach, the cocktails come out and the acoustic
set starts. Locals and guests, long tables, no rush; the good kind
of dinner.

The food is absolutely outstanding. Every dish is full of incredible flavours, beautifully balanced and prepared with great attention to detail. Every bite is a real delight. The Tuna Poke and Salmon Poke are simply exceptional, a true symphony of flavours that we will remember for a long time.
The service is warm, attentive and genuinely friendly, and the location is beautiful. Every time we walked past, the restaurant was full of guests, which says a lot about its quality.
Without a doubt, this is one of the best places to eat on the island. If you're visiting, make sure you come here. You won't be disappointed.

Service was great from start to finish, friendly and attentive without hovering. We both had the chicken Marsala and it was very tasty, well cooked and full of flavour. Easy recommendation if you want good food and one of the best sunset views on the island.
What a dream place! A beautiful boutique hotel in the best location on Gili Air. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced, and the entire team is incredibly kind and welcoming. 😀The team (especially the manager Bali) were very friendly and helpful (interesting thing was the men and boys had a lot more easy charm than the females). The…The team (especially the manager Bali) were very friendly and helpful (interesting thing was the men and boys had a lot more easy charm than the females). The location of the resort is fabulous- and the standard of international healthy food options was exceptional- I have travelled around six Indonesian 🇮🇩 islands and the Mowies menu was unique- and most enjoyable. My bungalow was set in lovely gardens and it was in a relatively peaceful area of Air - you do of course still get the distinct bass music sounds filtering through but they really aren’t intrusive. The restaurant on the beach is a very popular sunset chilling venue but the team willingly reserve tables or sunbeds etc for resort guests as a priority. Although I have made some comments about some improvements I would like to see I would most certainly choose Mowies when I visit Gili Air again. Bali (manager) was superb at really showing interest in helping guests to feel comfortable and cared for.

Tusind tak for et virkelig dejligt ophold. Hvis vi nogensinde kommer tilbage til Indonesien er det helt sikkert, at vi kommer tilbage og bor hos jer. 10/10 ⭐️

Before you pack
The things everyone wants to know.
Fly into Bali (DPS) or Lombok (LOP), then take a fast boat to Gili Air harbour. From Bali it's the fast boat from Padangbai, Serangan or Amed; about 2 to 2.5 hours. From Lombok it's a quick transfer from Bangsal harbour; 10 to 15 minutes on the water. From the harbour, we're a short walk or cidomo (horse-cart) ride away, and we can arrange pickup when you book.
Depends on what you're after. Trawangan is the lively one; bars, crowds, party energy. Meno is the tiny quiet one; beautiful but very little food or nightlife. Gili Air is the middle: quiet when you want it, a handful of good restaurants when you don't, and by far the best snorkelling and diving base of the three. Most people who've tried all three come back to Gili Air.
May to October is the dry season; bluer skies, calmer water, easier boat rides. June and September are the sweet spot: warm, dry, fewer crowds. November to March is still beautiful but brings afternoon rain and a little chop on the boats. Mowies is open year-round and the reef is fantastic any month.
